Hi, I’m Dawn — founder of Gather & Grow and a lifelong advocate for small businesses and thriving local food systems. Over the past 25+ years, I’ve led initiatives across two countries and 17 states, helping communities and businesses secure more than $850 million in resources to grow, innovate, and create lasting impact.

Before starting Gather & Grow, I built McCormick Farmz, a northern Michigan lavender farm that grew into a $150,000 annual business. I know firsthand the challenges of taking an idea from the kitchen table to a successful retail and wholesale operation — and the grit it takes to keep growing.

My background spans strategic consulting, grant writing, and economic development, but my heart is in helping food makers and farmers turn their passion into profitable, sustainable businesses. Whether you’re dreaming about your first product or ready to scale, I love helping entrepreneurs find clarity, connect to resources, and take the next step with confidence.

When I’m not leading workshops or consulting with small businesses, you’ll find me exploring Michigan trails, cooking with local ingredients, or visiting farmers markets (usually with coffee in hand).
